Violence Against Women in Sudan

The video follows 2009 's case of Lubna Hussein, the UN worker and a Sudanese journalist who was arrested with 12 other women for wearing trousers at a party in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. The 12 others accepted the punishment of 10 lashes but she refused and challenged the verdict in court. She still lost the case but due to international criticism, she was released with a fine instead of lashes.
